About Me

*** insert something witty here… ***

Mike Preston is a geek from the UK. He frequently chooses to talk about himself in the 3rd person, especially on sites such as this one. He has written many articles for various websites, been a guest on a few different online radio shows, given lectures at Leicester University at the Leicester Linux User Group (LLUG), DevOpsDays London and PHPem unconferences and talks. He is currently working hard contracting in London.

He learnt to program computers at the age of 8 on Commodore Vic-20 and by the age of 11 had started to build his own hardware add-ons with robots and a burglar alarm system and hasn’t stopped hardware hacking since.

In his spare time, he likes to write programs, take random photos, build hardware projects using Arduinos, read books, write poetry and is one of a number of fire marshals* for various pagan events around the UK during the year..

*titles differ, but that is essentially what we do.
